At JustAccounts, we are proud of our team of experts.
The JustAccounts wizards bring with them a wealth of experience in Accountancy, Software, Customer Care, Marketing, Finance, R&D.
From NASA to DIESEL, going through SAGE, Vodafone, and the Department of Education, collectively the JustAccounts SMT has, in the past, catered for a very wide variety of clients, and now they are continually thinking about how to support and pre-empt the needs of accountants and those of the contractor community in the UK.
Founder & Managing Director
Dr. Barry Florida James has spent over 20 years in the software accountancy business. Having studied Masters of Engineering, he furthered this knowledge with a PhD in database design. After his last role at Sage, in 2010 Barry founded JustAccounts, and developed a dual solution which gives contractors and freelancers a simple interface to talk to their accountants and practices, who benefit from an efficient tool for managing their clients. This allows clients and accountants time to talk about the real value of their relationship such as tax planning, trading vehicles and business strategy.
Chief Technical Officer
After spending the best part of a decade writing software for retail and production systems, James joined Sage in 2004 to work on their small business products. 5 years later, he was ready for a fresh challenge – writing all that again from scratch with JustAccounts. He’s still at it. He has no hobbies or spare time, but lives in Nottingham with his wife and two kittens.
Head of Research & Development
Graduated in Communication Engineering, Mark has worked in the civilian aerospace sector for the European Space Agency (ESA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on a variety of projects including the International Space Station, the UK’s Space Technology Research Vehicle (STRV) project, the Hipparcos Space Astrometry Mission, and other earth observation and satellite communications projects.
He joined the UK Ministry of Defence in 1997, leading a number of projects in the Applied and Corporate Research Programmes (ARP/CRP), before moving to the business management software company, Sage, in 2001. In 2014, he joined JustAccounts as head of R&D.
Previously working with UK Central Government dealing with CEO’s & CIO’s of main Government Departments such as Department for Education, Kilian has worked at local authority level in public sector, and at every level in the private sector, from SME’s to blue-chip organisations.
He specialises in building strong, meaningful and long lasting business relationships.
Kilian joined the JustAccounts Executive Team in 2016, to shape and lead our sales and marketing functions, and ensure at JustAccounts we are always in the best position to help support our partners.
Out of JustAccounts, Kilian is a family man. His friends and family know they can count on him for important things, but equally to get a party going! Rugby is also a big part of his life, and most Saturdays between September and March you will see him on the pitch.
